    LED lighting solutions for
    Medicinal Cannabis

    Why grow with LED?

Raise the quality of your cannabis crop

By using a dedicated light recipe for cannabis, plant characteristics can be steered. You can steer certain specific compounds meeting your customers requirement and differentiate yourself in the market.

    Predictable production is key

By using LED light, the climate in the greenhouse or sole source facility can be controlled more easily. LED light comes with hardly any heat; thus the climate can be steered more easily. This results in consistent quality with the right composition of compounds, the same quantity year-round to simplify logistical planning and guarantee reliable manufacturing. You will harvest right when you need it free of contamination and without the use of pesticides.

    High sustainable production

Growing your cannabis with the use of LED will generate higher yield per square meter compared to growing with other light sources. The right light optimizes photosynthesis and flower production and improves your numbers. Furthermore it uses the lowest possible energy input with a maximum production per Watt, a minimal use of water and nutrients, and a great working environment.

    • Higher, better quality yield with intercanopy lighting in medical cannabis cultivation

Higher, better quality yield with intercanopy lighting in medical cannabis cultivation

Cannabis is a light-loving crop. Light levels up to 1000 umol/m2/s in indoor facilities are fairly common.

Uniformity of the plants and predictability of the crop are key factors for successful production of medicinal cannabis.

    • What is the difference between LED and HPS grow lights

What is the difference between LED and HPS grow lights

As a grower, you are always looking for the best recipe for growth – ways to optimize results, minimize risks and increase yield. With LED lighting you can control heat and light separately.

    • How does light affect plants and people differently?

How does light affect plants and people differently?

Plants and people respond differently to light, because people only need relatively little light to see compare to plants that need light as the engine of growth.

The role of sensors and data collection in a successful vertical farm

Sensors and data play a pivotal role in vertical farming and they’re ready to transform the future of vertical farming. It is all because sensors enable us to monitor these growth conditions, recognize anomalies and identify problems as early as possible.

    Products

    Philips GreenPower LED production module

    Philips GreenPower LED toplighting linear

The Philips toplighting linear grow light is a supplemental light solution that enables year-round growing in greenhouse and indoor grow operations.

    toplighting compact

    Philips GreenPower LED toplighting compact

For your light-loving crops, the Philips LED toplighting compact is a UL/CSA-approved grow light that delivers high light levels in growth-stimulating spectrum.

    Interlighting

    Philips GreenPower LED interlighting

Delivering light below the canopy of a crop, the Philips GreenPower LED interlighting is a bi-directional grow light that delivers light to lower leaves. Philips LED interlighting is ideal for tall crops with broad canopies like hemp, tomatoes and cucumbers.

    Philips LED Production Module

Add growth-stimulating light to your closed-environment, multi-layer cultivation setup with the Philips GreenPower LED production module. Low radiative heat allows placement for lettuce, leafy greens, herbs as well as tissue culture and seedlings.

    Why choose LED over HPS?

    Control heat and light separately

High levels of radiant heat can stress or even burn the plants. With LED lighting you can control heat and light separately. You can apply higher levels of light to plants with 67% less radiant heat than HPS lighting. A lower crop temperature means you will have to raise the ambient temperature in your greenhouse and manage the related change in humidity.

    More light, less radiant heat

One important aspect is understanding how to grow your crops with LED lighting. When comparing the energy balance of LED lighting versus HPS lighting, the conversion of electricity into light and heat is different. Using the same amount of energy, LED-modules deliver more light and less radiant heat. This does call for new growth strategies for high-wire crops.
