Philips is proud to have been awarded ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year for 2014. This highly prestigious accolade was given to us in recognition of outstanding contributions towards protecting the environment through energy-efficiency. The Awards are held every year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In 2013, we received the top honor in the Product Manufacturer category by being crowned Partner of the Year.

About the ENERGY STAR Awards

The ENERGY STAR Awards celebrate energy efficiency and climate protection accomplishments in different fields. Industries involved in the awards include energy management, new home construction, energy efficiency program delivery, product manufacturers, product retailers, and service and product providers.

Every ENERGY STAR Award winner is chosen from a vast network of nearly 20,000 ENERGY STAR partners. The achievements of the winners demonstrate that improving energy efficiency is one of the fastest and most effective ways to prevent pollution, save money, and create jobs.

Philips and ENERGY STAR: creating a bright future

We released a total of 269 ENERGY STAR qualified products in 2012. Eighty-eight of these were new LED products, including the first LED equivalent for the 75 Watt incandescent bulb.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), consumers spend $2,200 per year on household energy costs on average. We can help reduce that cost through sustainable energy reducing solutions like LED and CFL light bulbs.

Products that earn the ENERGY STAR label by meeting the quality energy efficiency requirements set forth by the EPA are often eligible for utility rebate programs. These rebate programs lower the cost of the product, making it easier for end users to begin saving energy. We are committed to developing products that will help reduce energy costs now and in the future, while delivering exceptional quality of light for your space.
