Dan Blitzer

Dan Blitzer


Dan Blitzer's 30-year lighting career spans sales, marketing, product development, and education.

Dan has worked, written, and spoken widely on advanced lighting systems, sustainability, lighting application, and fundamentals. He is the principal of The Practical Lighting Workshop LLC, and serves on the steering committee of the Next Generation Luminaries LED competition.

Dan is Lighting Certified, a member of the IESNA and the Designing Lighting Forum of NY (past president).

Mark Roush

Mark Roush


Mark Roush’s more than 35 year career in lighting includes strategic brand and product marketing, business development, application engineering, and lighting education.

Mark is the principal of Experience Light, and has been on the faculties of two universities teaching lighting in architecture and interior design. In addition, he has managed lighting centers for four companies including being the original Philips LAC Manager for it’s opening in 1987, and has been a speaker at numerous national events.

Mark is a Fellow of the IESNA, is Lighting Certified, and is former President of the International Association of Lighting Designer's Education Trust and current Vice President (President Elect as of July 2015) of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.

Jill Matts


Jill Matts is a curriculum designer, facilitator, coach and speaker with a passion for seeing people learn, grow and apply their greatness.

Jill is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, the Association of Curriculum and Development, Phi Delta Kappa (Professional Fraternity in Education) and in the Who’s Who Among American Teachers.

Ellen Godson


With a highly regarded career of over 20 years within the lighting industry, Ellen is the Senior Manager for Philips Lighting University,  Lighting Concept Centre, Philips Canada.


Ellen’s career has included sales, design and lighting education. She is an award winning lighting designer with a remarkable portfolio for numerous prestigious projects in the industrial, commercial, institutional, healthcare, residential and technology fields.


Ellen is Lighting Certified, an active member and past President and Education Chair of the IESNA Toronto Section. She currently holds the position as Board Manager, and is an Instructor for both the Lighting Fundamentals and Intermediate lighting courses with the IESNA. She has been a faculty member of a Toronto University teaching lighting design for future Architects and Designers.  She presently sits on both the IESNA Standards for Healthcare and CSA Standards for Illumination Systems in Health Care Facilities Committees.

Daniela Garritano    


As the Program Supervisor for Philips Lighting University,  Lighting Concept Centre, Philips Canada, Daniela’s expertise in adult education has been proven with over 10 years of progressive teaching experience as a faculty member in post-secondary and a corporate trainer for prestigious corporations.


Daniela’s career in adult education extends to strategic learning initiatives, curriculum development and instructional techniques. As a facilitator, Daniela’s ability to create inclusive and engaging learning content is concentrated on supporting the learning needs of the business and the lighting industry.


Daniela has been a contributing writer for various online design publications and has written extensively on the fundamentals of design in both textbooks and student resources utilized within the Interior Decorating program at Durham College. She has also been featured throughout various television networks as a contributing specialist on home and garden.
